Taxonomy (families and genera)
Taxonomy deals with finding, describing and naming organisms. It is the organisation of related organisms into distinct groups, each group a subset of a letger group.
All frogs are classified as: Kingdom Animalia; Phylum: Chordata; Class: Amphibia; and Order Anura.
Within the order Anura, there are more than two dozens families of frogs. Those families that occur in Australia are shown here, along with the genera within them.
