Ways around the amphibian egg/embryo block
 Amphibians have been cloned since the 1950s
(long before “Dolly” in 1997)
 This is done most efficiently using cells
from early embryos
 It is likely that single embryonic cells can be
cryopreserved
 Clones may be generated using eggs from one
species, and embryonic cells from another,
so, in theory species can be “resurrected”
 This does need to be an area of some serious research
