FATS Group members span a wide range of interests - naturalists, herpetologists, pet keepers, professional scientists and private people with a desire to learn more about frogs and our environment. Their mission is to increase the awareness and appreciation of the natural world. The group is actively involved in monitoring frog populations and in other frog studies.

Meetings are held to exchange information and to collaborate on field work and research. Guest speakers and slide shows are integral and enjoyable parts of the meetings. The FATS Group meetings are held at Education Centre, Bicentennial Park at Homebush. Meetings are held the first Friday of every even month (February, April, June, August, October and December). Visitors are welcome.

FATS has an annual membership for individuals or families. There are also special "newsletter only" memberships. FATS produces FrogFacts information sheets and the FrogCall newsletter providing the latest news, project updates, hints, entertainment, and a summary of the previous meeting.
