nPreviously found in floodplains, ponds, and ditches in the short grass regions of Wyoming’s Laramie Basin.
nDeclared extinct in the wild in 1994.
nIn 1996 the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) approved a Species Survival Plan (SSP).
nSince 1996 the program has produced more than 20,000 tadpoles and juveniles for reintroduction into the Laramie basin.
nIn 2004 six clutches were spawned from reintroduced toads.
nThere are approximately 450 Wyoming toads in captivity.
