The gopher frogs at the Memphis Zoo were only 20.3g and 53.4mm after one year. In nature these frogs grow to 55mm in five months? With proper heat and adequate food in three months the gopher frogs grew from 20.3g to 53.4g, 52.3mm to 67.3mm, and increased in condition index from 1.40 to 1.73. The feeding rate of the frogs increased rapidly over time. The frogs preferred a temperature between 23ºC and 32°C.
