•19 days post-infection with 50,000 zoospores:

à H&E: 29/55 positive; IPX: 34/55 positive (Berger 2002)

•21 days post-infection with 10,000 zoospores for 20 hours: à IPX: 9/27 positive (Boyle et al. 2004)

Ø non-specific

Ø time-consuming


	Histology: exam tissue under a microscope. Invasive: ethics, reduced survivorship Berger tested L. caerulea all eventually died of chytrid. Boyle used M. fasciolatus; non-specific, requiring opinion of the diagnoser. Time-consuming: 80 samples>week
