Tadpole holding
ØTadpoles are transferred immediately into a
rearing tub 650mm L x 410mm
W x 280mm H.
ØTubs were filled to about 180mm deep and have
a air stone at one end
for water circulation. The water is not heated.
Ø20-30mm thick layer of detritus is supplied
and maintained for the tadpoles to feed on. Maintain our own detritus pond
mainly using Eucalypt
species.
ØTadpoles will also feed on a small amount of
fish flake, turtle pudding
and have been observed eating live black worm.
