ponds are fabulous . . . until a disease arrives
and then they are a nuisance! Wasting water is
also a growing issue.
ęoption one: after removing plants/animals as above,
use a triple dose of White spot Remedy and
wait a week before returning occupants
ęoption two: instead of chemical treatment, try
using commercial aquarium heaters to heat the
entire pond - maintain 35 deg. for 8 hours
or 40+ deg. for four hours; this might be
a ‘friendlier’ control measure for chytrid
that can be redone periodically
without huge effort or wasted water
