Please help identify

Postby Stephanie Monda » Sun Apr 26, 2015 11:24 am

Hello,

I live in Darwin/Palmerston NT.
Not sure what this little fella is.
I usually get green tree frogs, javelin frogs and cane toads around my house. I know this is not a green tree or a toad so maybe a javelin? Javelin frogs are VERY fast and these guys are to. They zip around so quick!

It has fins and fishy tail which confuses me. But it is an isolated pond in my backyard so couldn't be a fish could it??
Anyway, any assistance is greatly appreciated. They are enjoying spinach in the meantime :-D

Hi Stephanie,

Those look like fish to me but I'm not sure what species. Interesting that they could end up in an isolated pond. Have you introduced any plants or water lately? There could have been eggs attached to plants etc.

Aaron
