This is my first post to this forum! I'm in Samford Valley and have an old enamel bathtub that I am converting to a frog pond. There are a few places where the enamel has chipped off, exposing the metal. I had read elsewhere today that frog ponds should be made from non-metallic materials, so I dropped into my local hardware store to find something to paint over it. I left empty handed, as the toxicity warnings were quite alarming and I wasn't confident that the products would not leach into the water even when dry. So my question is, has anyone else made a frog pond from a chipped enamel bath, and have the frogs been harmed by any rusting? Bel.
