Wow, nice work everyone! Love that overhanging shelf in yours, Ann. These almost tempt me to create one, but I think ponds are easier!

Howdy guys new to forum and thought i would post up a pick of my enclosure its 3x3 metres wide and 1.5 tall it has been constructed with 50% light shade cloth and is fully sealed everywhere to keep frogs in and birds e.t.c. out. I have solar pumps and air stones set up and still looking for more plants to go in it atm and just put in 80 green tree frog tadploes that are just starting to get back legs going. I am having a go at breeding them so trying to create a natural eco system as best i can if you see anything that i could do better feel free to comment thank you Trevor from Adelaide South Australis

Great looking enclosure - how's your humidity? I think (it's been a while since I kept them) GTF need a pretty humid environment to thrive?

Winter will be the test i have spoken to a few frog breeders and they said once winter gets close a couple of heat lamps over the sand area will help them out a lot so its all trial and error atm during summer there will be no issues just colder months is were i will need to watch them all in the process of building a small hut for water proofing of heat lamps a lot have said i should be fine due to way i have set it up as natural as possible especially with hibernation on colder months with all plants e.t.c. natives but only time will tell i also have a 6 foot tank inside that can always be used if its needed i will be adding a lot more in the enclosure quite a few plants as well as wooden logs e.t.c.

Well all tadpoles are now frogs

Realy starting to thrive now the pen is that well sealed that insects from all around are trying there hardest to get in due to constant running water and have doubled the plant life with some plants that grow to around a metre so habitat is really booming. We have had 40 degree weather in sa last few weeks so it has pushed all the tadpoles into frogs. After lots of research i have decided heat lamp in enclosure could be a danger and expensive to run so have bought a 600w pond water heater that i will keep at 24 degrees once season temperatures start to drop. This way water is always reasonably warm and will keep some heat radiating from the water to heat around enclosure. Good thing about enclosure being so well sealed is no way for anything not even crickets to escape (apart from babies to 1-2 week old ones) so i can throw in a bunch and they learn to hunt and catch them like the wild which seams to be working.

I have recently picked up some 4 foot fish tanks so will breed my own crickets and woodies for them as feeding 80 adult green tree frogs will be a little insane at current prices for live food. Just finished setting up a mist water system with a timer along the top of the enclosure to help with humidity especially during hotter parts of season. Have also setup solar lights on ground with 3 together in 1 spot in the corner to attract insects e.t.c. at night time to come on in and be chomped

if you open it up so the insects can get in, the frogs will feed themselves
