red eyed green tree frogs

"...get frogs/tadpoles for my garden"; "find and catch a particular frog from the wild"; "release some frogs". A special forum where the answer is almost always "it is illegal (and not recommended)" but you can ask anyway.

red eyed green tree frogs

Postby degen » Mon Oct 29, 2012 10:45 pm

Hi, I'm looking to purchase a pair of red eyed green tree frogs in Victoria, any suggestions as to where to start looking?
Also do you need a licence to keep these frogs?
Cheers

I believe in Victoria you will need an Advanced Wildlife Permit for Red Eyes, so you should apply for one before trying to puchase them. I think you will find application forms off your states Department of Sustainability and Environment website. As for their availability I find them over here in SA very seasonal and scarce to come by.. but they became available from a few Pet Stores and breeders in late Jan and Feb for a short time this year. I'm sure someone in Vic will be able to give you better direction on this. Good Luck. :D
