Cloudy eye

A big issue both in enclosures and in the wild.

Cloudy eye

Postby Where_art_thou_Romeo » Mon Oct 26, 2015 9:21 pm

Hi all, just wondering if you might know what can cause a cloudy eye. My froggie has one bad eye and it seems he can't see out of it. It looks a tad lumpy or raised if you look at him from above and it's mostly the centre of his eye. Sorry no pics, have given up trying to upload them here.

Is it the eye itself or only the nictitating membrane?
If the eye itself, it can easily get infected and will probably need antibiotics. If it is only the nictitating membrane, that is possibly a fungal issue and some saline solution (0.9% sodium chloride) dripped carefully onto the eye a few times a day should clear it up in a few days. Photos would help confirm so these are only suggestions.
good luck with it.
