larger frog Belgrave, Vic

Postby nonterra » Mon Sep 15, 2014 9:40 pm

Whilst weeding in a reserve in Belgrave South on the weekend this gorgeous thing was unearthed and admired by all. Soil was fairly light and sandy but 100m+ from water (there are dams with water - why not stay there?)

I thought it might be a striped marsh frog Limnodynastes peroni.

It looks like an Eastern Banjo Frog (Limnodynastes dumerilli dumerilli). The Striped Marsh Frog tends to have a longer and more pointed snout.
