Can I keep a gecko in the same tank as my spotted marsh frog temporarily?

I think your right about it being temporary, but perhaps not in the way you desire. There is a very good chance you'll end up with no gecko and a fat frog.

The best bet for a temp home would be a big tupperware style container from the supermarket (commony called a click-clak in the hobby).
