Possible or not?

Do you have a question about anatomy, life cycle, taxonomy, or anything else that isn't covered by the other frogs.org.au projects? Ask them here (or provide an answer to other people's questions).

Possible or not?

Postby Wano » Sun Apr 01, 2012 10:11 pm

Frogs across australia play a vital role in all ecosystems and let's face it, they are awesome! Just wondering, you know how people come across tadpoles all the time and sometimes they are in inconvenient places and some people tip them out. Well frogs spwam in awkward spots sometimes and many people don't know what to do with them. So would it be possible if there was a group that raised them and released them back into the correct areas once morphed? Or does that count as illegal? Thanks.

definitely illegal in Victoria. Off the top of my head I can't recall in other states, but I'd say illegal in most places. The risk of spreading diseases is too high.
