Green Frogs

Postby farles83 » Thu Jan 23, 2014 8:21 pm

Its raining quite heavily in Brisbane right now.... don't think i've ever in my life seen so many dead tree frogs on the road. They actually out number the toads. I usually go out and attempt to "rescue" them but its a bit too upsetting tonight.

On the bright side... maybe it means that the numbers are on the up? At least in my area. Surely if theres hundreds dead on the road then theres even more in yards/trees/gutters/bushland right..?

There are likely to be more around in the neighbourhood apart from those on the roads although in some areas road mortalities are quite high and could have negative impacts on the population. There just needs to be suitable areas for successful breeding to replace the ones that die on the roads.
