identification please.

Found this little critter in my swimming pool. Unfortunately it was sleeping with the fishes and has shuffled off this mortal coil...poor little bugger. Couldn't find a picture of it online and was just wondering what type of frog it is or was?

Thanks...Looks a bit different from the pic. Is there a big difference from the males to females?

The Spotted Marsh Frog is an extremely variable species across its range in terms of colour, size and patterning. As for differences between male and female frogs, in this species the females are larger in size and broader in body but the patterns can be quite variable and I'm not sure that there is a definitive difference in that regard.
